Saturday, the Cedar County Library hosted the first free movie event for the El Dorado Springs area. Wednesday, Ozark Shorts has its first multi-state screening event, with free screenings over 1 night in major cities across the Midwest from Houston to Chicago!!! This Saturday, the free movie event returns to Barton County for Lamar Missouri's free September movie event at the Lamar Library!!!!

And Lamar kicks off the Official Selections for Ozark Shorts OCTOBER 2014 free movie events!!!

This coming month, we have a great range of short films from all around world. From the United States, to Canada, to Asia! And 3 of the short films are from female directors!!!!

Monthly Short Film Festival to Screen in 6 States Wednesday Night

Burbank, California – The independent film world has come to the Ozarks. And is about to explode in towns across the Midwest.

Ozark Shorts, a new groundbreaking free monthly film festival in the 4 states, is a monthly traveling short film series of family-friendly short films from around the world.

This week, local bars in 6 major cities across the Midwest will host a free screening event on Wednesday, September 24^th. Screenings will be from Texas to Illinois.

The festival's founder, award winning filmmaker Jack Truman, came up with the idea for a free film festival in the 4 states while his own films were playing worldwide on the film festival circuit at top festivals.

“People in this part of the country need to be given the opportunity to see great independent films from around the world they would otherwise never get the opportunity to see”, says Truman. “There is a great creative world of short filmmakers that want to share their art and get their messages out. Everyone should have the chance to see great art without paying a cent”.

This unique monthly event began in June in a library in Lamar Missouri, and 7 towns throughout the Ozarks hosted free screening events in August to wrap up the summer. The monthly screening events take place at local libraries, senior citizen centers and other venues.

A lot is going on with OZARK SHORTS!!!!

September started out with a bang last weekend with the first local screening event in the Nevada, Missouri area at the Fox Playhouse. Based on the event's success, Nevada will now be having a free screening event monthly of OZARK SHORTS!!!

This week, free screenings come to Springfield and Stockton. With Springfield hosting its first free local event at the Springfield Library!!!!

2 new Missouri towns have been added this month to the monthly screening series lineup. Saturday will be the premiere event for the town of Nevada, with Springfield hosting its first free screening event next week.
