Ozark Shorts Update: Day 2 of the Film Projector Project

OZARK SHORTS
A Free Monthly Short Film Screening Series

We've already met 200% of our crowdfunding goal for a film projector for OZARK SHORTS!!!!

Thank you so much to all of you that has made this possible. We couldn't do this without you!!!

This week, our free screening event that was scheduled at the Vernon County Senior Center in Nevada, Missouri had to be cancelled at the last minute, due to the fact that they had no method of screening short films. That will not happen again!!!!

This will be our last update for this week on the projector campaign. After today, we won't have access to the internet around here until the beginning of next week. There's limited access to things in these small towns out here in the middle of nowhere!!!

This Saturday, we'll have a great free film screening event in Stockton, Missouri at the Cedar County Library. It should make for a great one! 6 award winning independent short films from around the world to open the first monthly event in the Stockton area, a town that has less than 1,000 people. It's events like this that Ozark Shorts was created! To give people in small rural areas the chance to see great independent short films the way they were meant to be seen without paying a dime.

After Saturday's Stockton, event, we'll have a 2 week break until our next free event in El Dorado Springs!

You can visit our Facebook page to keep up on all the free events coming up in August here in the Ozarks at:

Thank you again for your support!!!

This Week's Updates: Screenings, Crowdfunding and More.....

LITTLE HORSES
Directed by Levi Abrino
OFFICIAL SELECION OZARK SHORTS

Ozark Shorts is starting with a bang!!!!

Last month, we started our free monthly short film screening series in Lamar, Missouri. This month, 3 towns booked. August has 7 towns booked. What a start for Ozark Shorts!!!!

This month's screenings in Lamar and Joplin were amazing. Much thanks to the 66 Sports Bar in Joplin and the Lamar Library for hosting the screenings!

We were scheduled to end July's free screening events with a local free event in Nevada, Missouri this Thursday, July 31st at the Vernon County Senior Center. Unfortunately, that event has been cancelled until further notice due to the senior center not having a physical method of screening films to their audience. The senior center does not have a working TV, projector or other means of viewing films.

It's because of venues such as this that we have created a new Crowdfunding campaign for a cheap film projector for Ozark Shorts to screen at any type of venue.

We need a cheap projector that can connect to a laptop.

In order to bring the independent short film world to these small towns in the Ozarks, and let anyone see them at no cost, we need to provide a form of physical means for people at these local locations to view these movies as a group.

Free screening events take place at local libraries, senior citizen centers, churches and various organizations such as the Lions Club. While some locations have a screening method to show the films, many do not. Some places have a projector. Some places have TV's and DVD players. Some places have no method of screening. We want to bring short films to towns for anyone to see at no cost. So we need something that is portable that we can take to different locations to screen these short films to anyone and everyone.

The cheapest and the easiest thing to get would be a small portable projector that connects to a laptop.

We've been able to find several cheap projectors online for under 100 dollars. So with our fundraising goal of $75, we will be able to purchase a portable projector online and take it to all locations to screen short films anywhere! Inside or outside. On a wall or on a bedsheet. It doesn't matter. As long as we have a way to play these films to the public at no cost, the way they were intended to be seen, that's all that matters.

Crowdfunding site Go Fund Me has partnered with us to provide a crowdfunding campaign for the projector. You can visit the page here:

Please visit the page, and share through Facebook, Twitter and email. Thank you!
